Many thanks, once again this year, to you and the many tireless volunteers for another fantastic Waddle Weekend.
As I mentioned when we spoke, it was bittersweet for me this year, having lost my Starbuck very recently. But I can
only imagine how he was smiling down on everyone and with us every step of the way, not to mention helping push
back those clouds as much as possible on Sunday! (He always believed timing was everything...)
I have to tell you how much I appreciated your thoughts at the beginning of the Memorial Service. You talked about
how for these two days a year, everything else can wait and the world can go on while we take time out for these
bassets. Starbuck had been quite sick and I let many things go around the house and such so that I could spend
time with him. As it turned out, I'm so glad I made that choice because now I can slowly get caught up. And as I was
driving down to Dwight, I thought to myself how everything can just wait two more days. How very true!
Thank you and I'll keep peeking in on those adoptees...one of these days I'll be ready again. It can only be a basset
hound. Best regards,
Janet Popp
