1. Individual guests are responsible for care and uptake of rooms.
2. Bassets must be crated or taken from room in order for housekeeping to take care of your room
3. Guests must provide protective covering for room furniture. Remove bedspreads to protect as well. Ask motel room service for extra sheets if needed.
4. Guests are responsible for any “accidents” their basset may have – please bring cleaning supplies you use at home for such cases.
5. Bassets are NOT allowed in eating areas at any time – this is a State Health mandate.
6. Owners must provide their own pet dishes – do NOT use motel ice buckets, for example.
7. Owners may be responsible for additional cleaning fees should they be found necessary.
8. Bassets must be on leash with owners in public areas at all times.
9. If bassets are left in crate alone, owners may be required to leave a contact number in order for them to return to handle the situation. Remember,
our pets are in a place they do not know. They are fine as long as owners are with them but when left alone, they become worried. They will bark, howl, and do other things.
Obviously, if another dog hears this, they too will chime in which would become a problem for guests trying to rest
10. Motels have policies regarding the number of dogs in rooms. Motels have been very good to work with for our events and often bend the rules for us.
If a motel has a limit on number of dogs in a room, please contact Ginny Downs, 309-248-8225 or ask to speak to motel manager. Do NOT sneak dogs into the room. This ruins
trust issues.
GABR provides clean up/pick up area with disposal unit behind each motel. The packets we provide for each Waddle guest includes a couple extra baggies.
Take with you as you leave the room with your dog. Always remember to have extras in your pocket for those unexpected moments. We cannot make sure we
have enough baggies for every dog every day, please bring baggies of your own. We provide extras just in case. We also provide the scooper and we EXPECT
you to use this or the baggie to pick up after your dog and discard in the can provided.
There are many collapsible dishes – double for feeding and water – available at pet stores and other places like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc. Bottled water is helpful to
carry with you for your dog too. If your dog has allergies, bring that extra sheet or blanket from home to the Waddle Park for your basset’s comfort.
If you are coming to the event for the first time, you will see that your basset will slobber quite a bit more than at home. This is from excitement. Extra paper towels
or Wet wipes will help. Do not give new treats or foods to your basset during the weekend – you will NOT be happy with the “ending”. Remember, this is all new to
your basset. You are excited as well and this is a wonderful event. Plan ahead and try to consider your basset’s needs beforehand.
Print this list and keep with you as you prepare for the big weekend!!!
