How-dee! My name is Emmy Lou (no relation to the famous singer). I'm a 5-year-old sweet lovin' Basset gal whose clothes have gotten a little bit baggy. I arrived here at GABR in June and am SO grateful to be here. It has been a pretty rough year for me. It is not in my nature to speak unkindly about anyone, but I've been missing a lot of the basic things a hound needs to be happy like love and playtime and walks. My eyes may look sad, but I never am. My tail is always waggin' and I have a big smile and a hearty howl when you come home. Just watch me strut! I love everyone I meet: babies, grown-ups and everyone in between. I like other dogs and never bother with cats or other critters. I like power naps and nuzzling your ears. I've been relearning things like how to potty outside (95% there) and how to walk better on a leash. My foster family has been ever so patient, and I have made tremendous strides! I sleep well in either my dog crate or dog bed. I can use the dog door and I've mastered going up and down flights of stairs. I love to play with plush squeakie toys and tussle with my basset buddy Charlotte. I can be very silly and have been known to steal your socks so I can leap and throw them about....now that's what I call FUN! I am not food aggressive, and will eat whatever you give me. I do have some skin allergies, so my budget would include higher quality food, some medication and supplements and more frequent baths. I have the biggest heart overflowing with love, long ears and wet basset kisses to give to a very special someone. What are you waiting for??? I'm thinking about you every day; make my secret dream come true. Just fill out an adoption application and I may be all yours.
